It's Phantastic, Baby

It celebrates the Phantastic 4 for becoming the first National League foursome on the same team to slug 20 or more homers by the all star break. All four of the pictured Phils are all stars. My issue with the picture was Rauuul as the Invisible Woman. Surely we could go the John Cena catch phrase route and say that the opposition "can't see him", but Rauuul with Jessica Alba's body still doesn't sit quite well with me. The others are all fitting. Ryan Howard is a big individual, much like The Thing...plus he kicks crazy butt like Michael Chiklis did for years, starring in The Shield. Chase Utley as Mr. Phanstastic is undoubtedly spot on. And Jayson Werth as The Human Torch, as we documented last week, is accurate, as his bat has been hotter than sun burnt herpes.

22-year-old pitching prospect Nick Hernandez's father helps him stay fit during the off-season Phillies pitching prospect Nick Hernandez spent much of the 2010 regular season on the disabled list with an injury to his throwing shoulder. The 6'4", 215 pound lefty, who was named a mid-season South Atlantic League all-star with the Class A Lakewood BlueClaws, attempted comebacks twice during the season, making rehab outings for the rookie level Gulf Coast League Phillies, but experienced setbacks that curtailed his return to the mound and kept him from helping his teammates lock down a second consecutive league championship for Lakewood. Justin De Fratus is a 21 year old right handed relief pitcher with the Lakewood BlueClaws. An 11th round draft choice in 2007, Justin had been a starter in his first two seasons in the Phillies organization. Informed this spring that he'd be switched from the rotation to the bullpen, Justin has excelled and become one of the most reliable pitchers on the Lakewood staff.
