NLCS Series Preview, Games 1 & 2: Phillies at Dodgers

Woooooahh, it's the rematch! The National League Championship Series has the same opponents this year that it did last year. There is certainly lots of anticipation this year, after the Dodgers added a few phormer Phillies that weren't with the club last time around. Currently occupying roster space for the Dodgers are Randy Wolf, Vicente Padilla and Jim Thome. Eric Milton is also a Dodger, but has been on the disabled list since June. Add those players to the ex-Phils on the Los Angeles coaching staff, Larry Bowa and Mariano Duncan, and the Dodgers have quite a collection of guys with Philadelphia ties. Is Ed Wade secretly overseeing this team in addition to the Astros? Read on for details on the pitching match ups and additional information from this series. Thursday, 8:07pm. Cole Hamels (10-11, 4.32 ERA in regular season, 0-1, 7.20 ERA in post season) vs. Clayton Kershaw (8-8, 2.79 ERA in the regular season, 0-0, 2.70 ERA in post season). Hamels was 3-6 with a 4.99 ERA in 1...

Former Phils Won't Be Enough For LA

Hey, Audrina Patridge...even though I am not sure why you are famous, you are considerably attractive and you are wearing a baseball jersey, so PhoulBallz.com readers will likely listen to what you have to say. As such, let me ask you something. Why do the Dodgers think they can achieve success with guys the Phillies let go years ago? Yeah, I don't know either. Surely, it is not ideal that the Phillies are still paying a portion of Jim Thome's contract this season, while he attempts to help last year's NLCS runners up get over that hump this season. And naturally we all miss the Wolf Pack, especially since many of us watched Randy Wolf come all the way up through the Philadelphia system, as well as Padilla's Flotilla. And who doesn't still have a place in his/her heart for Larry Bowa? Bowa will always be part Phillie. However, as dear as Phillies phans might hold certain times with those guys in their hearts, phans also know that their team is better off with those ...

Phillies look-alikes, Part 1

The Phillies are World Series Champions and, thus, are world wide celebrities. This recognition isn't enough, I tell you. Some of the champs could very well be confused with other major celebrities around the globe...or at least around my house. Let's dig in... Two look-alikes in particular have been widely discussed. Geoff Jenkins even made a sign on the table covering at his autograph station at last year's Phillies Phestival that he is not Brett Favre or phormer Phillie Randy Wolf. ------------------------------------------------------- Jayson Werth may be on his way to Wrestlemania. Jay-Dub is aware that he resembles Heavyweight wrestling champion Adam "Edge" Copeland. Are you? -------------------------------------------- Carlos Ruiz's fame was boosted by TBS during the playoffs, but he might be ready for his own Comedy Central sketch show, as he looks very much like Carlos Mencia. Dee dee dee! -------------------------------------------------- And whi...
