Manny Bathing Manny

Have you heard the one about the performance enhancing drug user who ditched his team in the playoffs to take a shower and get ready to leave the ball field? No? Oh, well then you missed today's news about Manny Ramirez. Radio stations all over the region, and sports writers from coast to coast laid into Dodgers outfielder Manny Ramirez for taking to the club house during Monday night's game 4 of the National League Championship Series, after he was removed for a defensive replacement, in order to disrobe, shower and perhaps attempt to dodge the press. On Sunday night, Manny was asked by a reporter about Philadelphia phans having the notion he had taken steroids, following chants from the crowd asserting the concept. All Manny could say was, "Next...". With a 1 run lead in the 9th inning, on Monday night, it seemed that Manny felt that the game was locked up and the Dodgers were sure to tie the series and force at least one more game back in Los Angeles. Ramirez didn...

NLCS Series Preview, Games 1 & 2: Phillies at Dodgers

Woooooahh, it's the rematch! The National League Championship Series has the same opponents this year that it did last year. There is certainly lots of anticipation this year, after the Dodgers added a few phormer Phillies that weren't with the club last time around. Currently occupying roster space for the Dodgers are Randy Wolf, Vicente Padilla and Jim Thome. Eric Milton is also a Dodger, but has been on the disabled list since June. Add those players to the ex-Phils on the Los Angeles coaching staff, Larry Bowa and Mariano Duncan, and the Dodgers have quite a collection of guys with Philadelphia ties. Is Ed Wade secretly overseeing this team in addition to the Astros? Read on for details on the pitching match ups and additional information from this series. Thursday, 8:07pm. I Ain't Hatin', I'm Just Statin'

As names from the supposedly confidential 2003 MLB drug tests continue to leak out , players continue to test positive and get suspended , and even huge stars in major markets are made examples of, maybe all the hype last week over how bust-out players will be inevitably suspected of cheating was misdirected. MLB's drug policies are in place and are being properly enforced. While fans, writers and people in between mostly seem to feel like the sport became tainted in the steroid era and, as a result, become suspicious of players who excel, perhaps it's time to trust. Trust the players who have not been exposed as cheaters...and trust the sport, that you love, to prevent cheaters from wrecking the game. Instead of speculating about the guys on top of their games these days, while Major League Baseball is enforcing their anti-drug policies, perhaps we should be taking a look at guys who have fallen off since MLB has been testing strictly in recent years. How about former Americ...
