Subscribers of my Patreon site have gotten some details from the Phillies' Fall Instructs in recent days.   The Florida Instructional League is an annual month-long off-season combine that will feature workouts as well as practices and regularly pits players from different organizations against one another in exhibition games.  This year's version in a pandemic impacted world won't see different teams facing one another, but the Phillies' players will see exhibition competition, as the organization is slated to have some intrasquad games in the coming weeks. A starter in college, Miller struggled the previous summer in the prestigious Cape Cod League, posting a 7.71 ERA.  The Stanford product was reportedly signed for $428,300 following the draft. Once signed, he promptly debuted in the minors and moved up two more levels. Each August, Mike surveys a collection of writers, broadcasters and media types that cover the Phillies minor league levels closely to collect each person's list of ranked Phillies prospects. Using a point system, awarding points based on rank, he will tally out a complete list of all the organization's best developmental talents. Per Mike, third baseman/first baseman Alec Bohm was listed as the top prospect on two-thirds of the submissions. Here is a sample of the list, the top 10, right from the Reading Eagle piece. 1. Here is a quick rundown of the Phillies' activity on day two of this year's MLB draft... With the 91 st overall pick in the draft, the Phillies selected shortstop Jamari Baylor.  The righty hitting high school senior out of Benedictine School in Virginia he is scouted as a five-tool player. In his scholastic season this year, Baylor sported a .412 batting average with seven home runs and 21 RBI, per Richmond.com . Reportedly, Baylor worked out for the Phillies and the Nationals last week.  The 18-year-old looks to have a strong build and is listed at five-feet-11, 190 pounds.  He is a Louisburg College commit, but has expressed interest in playing professionally.
