BlueClaws Food & Toy Drive This Saturday

It's the holiday season and the time for giving is here. The Lakewood BlueClaws, Class A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, will host an event this Saturday, December 10th at FirstEnergy Park to collect donations for needy families in the area. The 12th annual Breakfast with Buster food and toy drive, to be held from 9 AM to 11 AM, will feature free bagels and coffee for fans that drop off non-perishable food and new unwrapped toys.

BlueClaws mascot Buster and his close personal friend, Santa Claus, are set to be on hand at FirstEnergy Park to greet fans, as they drop off donations and enjoy their free coffee and bagels, provided by Manhattan Bagel of Brick.

Via a press release from the BlueClaws, team general manager Geoff Brown stated, "Over the last 11 years, the community support for this event has been overwhelming. This year, before you start your Saturday, you can grab a bagel and a cup of coffee and help those less fortunate this holiday season."

All collected items will go to the Salvation Army of Ocean County.

Gene Kelly was the radio voice of the Philadelphia Phillies from 1950- 1959. Born in Brooklyn NY, Kelly pitched in the minor leagues after graduating from Marshall College in 1941. No work, X-Men Origins: Wolverine premieres, our Phillies face the Metropolitans for the first time this season and tailgating for BOTH doesn't sound all that absurd to me. Anyway, I surveyed some qualified phans and got several opinions on how exactly a fight might go down if the mutant hero Wolverine faced off against Phillies hero Matt Stairs.
