Frosty Phillies Favorites: 2021 Edition w/ DJ Stewart

Season's greetings to all of you! It's that time of the year to celebrate and enjoy the holiday season. Every year at Christmas time, I survey a group of Phillies prospects about what they get excited for during the holidays.

This year, we focus on just one up and coming player, corner infielder DJ Stewart. The 22-year-old righty batter had a solid season in 2021. In 94 games combined with Class A Clearwater and Class A Advanced Jersey Shore, Stewart notched a .265 batting average with 14 home runs, 42 RBI and five stolen bases.

Recently, I talked with DJ to gain his feedback on all of his holiday favorites. Read ahead for that interview...

-What's your favorite Christmas movie?

My favorite is This Christmas.  My Mother and I would watch it together every Christmas, so it just stuck with me.

-What is your favorite Christmas song and which version is best?

This Christmas by Chris Brown.  It's the final song of my favorite Christmas movie.

-What's your favorite thing to eat at the holidays and who makes it?

My mother's banana pudding.  A perfect Christmas dessert.

-Do you have a standout gift from childhood that sticks out in your memory?

My older cousin each year would get me a doll as a joke and eventually it just became a tradition.

-What is your favorite tradition to enjoy with your family at the holidays?

Just seeing my family.  I am very family oriented, so just seeing them each year is my favorite tradition.  Merry Christmas.

Previous editions of this survey include answers from Aaron NolaRhys Hoskins, Adam HaseleyScott KingeryLogan O'Hoppe and loads of others.

PhoulBallz Interview: RHP Ben Brown talks TJ recovery, O'Hoppe, cancelled season

Image- MiLB.com Out of action since last May when it was determined he required Tommy John surgery, righty pitching prospect Ben Brown is using the downtime of the pandemic hiatus to continue his physical recovery.  A 33rd round draft selection of the Phillies back in 2017, Brown made his professional debut that same year, posting a 2.57 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP in 10 appearances in the rookie level Gulf Coast League.  The following season, Brown began to make a name for himself in the GCL, striking out 16 batters in one July appearance.  He would post a 3.12 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP in 10 games (eight starts) before earning a promotion and finishing the season with a pair of outings with Class A short-season Williamsport. Brown, a Long Island, NY native, opened last year with Class A Lakewood.  In four appearances with the BlueClaws, he struck out 20, walked four and allowed no runs in 13 2/3 innings and looked well on his way to making an impact on betting odds and available promo codes
