Of late Class A Lakewood has been led by pitcher Kyle Glogoski.  The native New Zealander has a 3-1 record with a 0.96 ERA, a .123 batting average against and a 15.9 K/9 mark in six appearances.  Last weekend I interview the promising 20-year-old.  Click here to listen to that interview.

Corner infielder Luke Miller has performed very well in seven games since joining the BlueClaws.  The 22-year-old has tallied a .308 batting average with a double, a home run, four RBI and four walks.  Miller, 22, was the Phillies' 22nd round draft choice last year out of Indiana.

Left-hander Ethan Lindow had a remarkable May, posting a 2.96 ERA and a .221 batting average against in six appearances.  The Georgia native was a 5th round draft pick in 2017 by the Phillies.  Overall with the BlueClaws, the 20-year-old sports a 1-2 record with a 3.27 ERA and a 9.8 K/9 mark in 11 games.

Switch-hitting catcher Rafael Marchan has been a reliable offensive contributor this year for Lakewood.  The 20-year-old Venezuela native has notched a .306 average with eight doubles and seven RBI in 23 games.

For Class A Advanced Clearwater, last year's first round draft pick Alec Bohm has been impressive since joining the team.  The 22-year-old righty batter is fresh off a 10-game hitting streak and is batting .325 with eight doubles, two triples, three home runs in 29 games.  Bohm has played both first base and third base for the Threshers.

Center fielder Simon Muzziotti has been solid on offense with the Threshers as well.  Through 39 games, the 20-year-old lefty batter sports s .306 average with a pair of round trippers, 15 RBI and seven steals.  Heading into Sunday, the Venezuela native had notched six multi-hit games in his last 10 contests.

Lefty starter Damon Jones has remained dominant for the Threshers, collecting a 3-3 record with a 1.37 ERA, a .173 batting average against along with a league-best 80 K's in 10 starts.  Jones was an 18th round pick in 2017 out of Washington State.  I recently interviewed the 24-year-old.  Click here to read that post.

With Double-A Reading, outfielder Mickey Moniak has turned things on, posting a .301 batting average in 29 games since the end of April.  Moniak, a 21-year-old lefty batter, was the top overall draft pick in 2016.

Righty reliever Addison Russ has been very solid for Reading.  The 24-year-old boasts a 1.66 ERA with seven saves in nine chances and a 12.9 K/9 mark in 22 outings in the Eastern League.  Russ was the Phils' 19th round pick in 2017 out of Houston Baptist.

Right-handed pitching prospect Adonis Medina  has strung together three good outings, going 3-0 with a 1.15 ERA in those starts with Reading.  Overall, the Dominican Republic native has a 3-2 record with a 3.92 ERA, a .243 opponents' average and a 6.4 K/9 mark in nine starts this season for the Fightin Phils.

At the Triple-A level catcher Deivi Grullon has continued his exciting season, as he ranks fourth in the league in hitting with a .344 average.  Additionally, the 23-year-old righty batter has nine homers with 38 RBI in 43 games with the IronPigs.

Outfielder Lane Adams leads the IronPigs in homers with 11.  The 29-year-old right-handed hitter has a .285/.344/.553 slash line in 47 games this season.  Adams signed as a free agent with the Phillies over the off-season.

Drabek Preparing For Next Step

The transition has been easy for Kyle Drabek. In December, he was part of a package of young prospects that was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays for ace pitcher Roy Halladay. Now, as though nothing has changed, he's right back where he was last season...the star prospect on the pitching staff of a team in the Double A Eastern League. Drabek has often stated that he wanted to stay in the Philadelphia organization, who drafted him in the first round of the 2006 amateur draft. The 22-year-old thought after the midseason trade rumors, that surrounded him possibly going to Toronto last year, passed with no action that all the turmoil was over and that he could simply relax and focus on getting to the big leagues with the Phillies. That wasn't the case, as the deal eventually came to fruition over the off-season. In the Blue Jays system this season, Drabek doesn't have to worry about being dealt. He only has to concern himself with opposing batters and working on his secondary pit...

Lidge Shaky, T-Mac Honored in Trenton

TRENTON, NJ- Brad Lidge made his second rehab appearance for the Double A Reading Phillies on Thursday night and it didn't go as well as the veteran reliever or the team had hoped. Lidge struggled with his command and turned in a rather poor outing for the club that entered the night in a playoff race, 1 game behind division rival Trenton for the Wild Card spot in the Eastern Division. On the disabled list since spring training with a strained right rotator cuff, Lidge experienced an elbow strain when he was working back from that issue in late May. In his outing against the Yankees affiliate in Trenton, Lidge displayed difficulty with his control as he threw three wild pitches, hit two batters, walked another and gave up a single, all while letting up two earned runs on 28 pitches in 2/3 of an inning. After the disappointing performance, Lidge was composed and focused on some positive aspects, having reached 89 and 90 MPH on scouts' radar guns, according to some reports. ...

Rappers in Phillies Caps

Weekend greetings to you phine pholks out there. Today's post features pictures of rappers wearing Phillies caps. Why rappers in Phillies caps, you ask? Because... Any other questions? We will start things off properly by going with a highly recognizable hip hop star. 50 Cent stays constantly relavant by consistantly creating radio friendly material to help sell (G) units, while he "keeps it real" by still rapping about the thug life he lived before becoming the 2nd highest earning black entertainer in America. 50 is seen here in a recent interview rocking a throw-back Phillies cap. Next up we'll use a throw-back screen cap from what may be the very first major appearance by a rapper wearing Phillies gear. Chuck D, of legendary rap group Public Enemy, wore a Phillies cap in the music video for rap anthem Fight The Power in 1989. The song was the lead single from the soundtrack for Spike Lee's film Do The Right Thing . Next up we'll go with some home grown tal...
