Recently, I posted an interview with Phillies infield prospect Kendall Simmons in which he talked about the current baseball hiatus.  In addition to sharing insight on how he's been staying in shape as well as what motivates him, the 20-year-old, who was an All-Star with Class A short-season Williamsport last year, took time to answer some less serious questions for me.

In this separate interview, Simmons spoke about ice cream, super powers, teammates and other silly topics.  Read ahead to check that out...

U.S. soccer player Alex Morgan.

- Can you share three words to describe Dominic Pipkin?

Goofy, lanky, stubborn.

- If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?

To be able to fly, so I could go anywhere I want, on my own time.

- What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?

 I don't like ice cream.

- What's the most embarrassing thing in your music library?

Hard core rock.

- Seeds or gum and which flavor?

BBQ seeds.

- I've been watching the UFC fights lately.  Which Phillies teammate do you think would make the best ultimate fighter?

Myself and Logan O'Hoppe.

- What's your best sport besides baseball?

Football.

- You can go 4-for-4 and your team loses or you get kicked in the groin and your team wins...which do you choose?

Kicked in the groin and a win!

A co-freshman of the year in 2019, with South Alabama, Wilson has been on the radar of some big league teams for quite a while.  In his junior season last year, Wilson batted .313 with seven home runs and 30 RBI.  When his collegiate season was through, the lefty hitter quickly debuted in the minors.   In 30 games with Class A Clearwater last year, Wilson tallied a .215 average with three homers, 17 RBI and two steals. Listed at six-foot-one, 210-pounds, Wilson opened the 2022 campaign with Class A Advanced Jersey Shore.  The 22-year-old has been slow to start offensively, but confidence and poise are not a problem for this strong, promising individual. On the base paths, Wilson is quick and can contribute with his feet.  Defensively, the Alabama native will likely play left or right field moving forward.  Possessing an ability t

Ryan Madson is acting questionable

I've seen similar types of "poking fun" entries on other Phillies blogs. When this picture came across my desk today, I figured, "Why not...?" Ryan Madson was out on the town (Manayunk) over the weekend and was photographed acting pretty with a purse slung over his shoulder and being chummy with a friend of mine. Can I really call him a friend, if he's actually my friends' friend , and I only prank called him once? Sure, why the heck not?!
