Schedule of Events for Phillies Home Opener

A brand new season is already more than a week old, but the home schedule for the Phillies is set to get underway on Tuesday. For the team's 2014 home opener in which the Phils host the Milwaukee Brewers, the following is the schedule of events.

7 AM- The Majestic Clubhouse store opens.

1 PM- Citizens Bank Way Opening Day Party...features Live Music from Go Go Gadjet, food, beverages.

1:13 PM- Phillies batting practice.

1:35 PM- All gates open.

2:13 PM- Brewers batting practice.

3:13 PM- Line up on 10th St, behind the ballpark. Fans not yet in the park can line up outside the stadium to view the 2014 make their grand entrance into opening day, as their led by the Cardinal O'Hara High School Marching Band.

3:22 PM- Fans are urged to be in their seats for pregame ceremonies as the team enters from the outfield down the red carpet.

3:34 PM- "Philadelphia Pride" and "America the Beautiful" sung by Philadelphia Boys Choir and Men's Chorale.

3:40 PM- Brewers team introduction.

3:44 PM- Phillies team introduction.

3:50 PM- National anthem sung by Jacquie Lee of NBC's The Voice.

4 PM- Ceremonial 1st pitch, featuring a surprise Phillies alumnus.

4:07 PM- Game time.

5th inning- Live performance of "What's the Phanatic Say?"

7th inning- "God Bless America" sung by Julie Udine of the cast of "Phanton of the Opera"

2022 Top Phillies Prospects Countdown: #13 OF Ethan Wilson

Taken with the Phillies' second round draft pick (49th overall) last year, outfielder Ethan Wilson has landed among the top prospects in the organization. A co-freshman of the year in 2019, with South Alabama, Wilson has been on the radar of some big league teams for quite a while. In his junior season last year, Wilson batted .313 with seven home runs and 30 RBI. When his collegiate season was through, the lefty hitter quickly debuted in the minors. In 30 games with Class A Clearwater last year, Wilson tallied a .215 average with three homers, 17 RBI and two steals. Listed at six-foot-one, 210-pounds, Wilson opened the 2022 campaign with Class A Advanced Jersey Shore. The 22-year-old has been slow to start offensively, but confidence and poise are not a problem for this strong, promising individual. I've seen similar types of "poking fun" entries on other Phillies blogs. When this picture came across my desk today, I figured, "Why not...?" Ryan Madson was out on the town (Manayunk) over the weekend and was photographed acting pretty with a purse slung over his shoulder and being chummy with a friend of mine. Can I really call him a friend, if he's actually my friends' friend , and I only prank called him once? Sure, why the heck not?!
