Biddle Injury Update

Phillies lefty pitching prospect Jesse Biddle left his start for the Class A Lakewood BlueClaws on Tuesday with a right knee injury. The 19-year-old Philadelphia native said, after the game, that he has felt discomfort throughout the start, but felt a severe tightening in the joint when he ran to back up home plate after surrendering a run-scoring hit to Hickory shortstop Jurickson Profar.

Initially, Biddle stated that he would be checked out by a Phillies team physician on Wednesday or Thursday, however, Biddle informed PhoulBallz.com exclusively today that his examination has been pushed back until this coming Tuesday.

Biddle, the Phillies' top selection from the 2010 amateur draft, added that he felt fine and is able to walk around and complete daily activities with no problems. A serious structural issue is not likely, however, the Phillies will desire to receive confirmation of that before Biddle heads down to Florida to participate in off-season Instructional League ball, beginning in mid-September.

Biddle, who was named a full-season South Atlantic League All-star on Tuesday, prior to dealing with the ailment, posted a 7-8 record with a 2.98 ERA in 25 games with the BlueClaws this season.

Kendrick & LaGrossa- Second Phils/Survivor Marriage

On Saturday, Phillies pitcher Kyle Kendrick married 3-time Survivor contestant and former Flyers employee Stephenie LaGrossa. The couple exchanged vows in front of 105 guests at the Silverado Resort in Napa, California. Their special day featured many personalized aspects, including cocktail hour snacks modeled in the fashion of mini Philly cheesesteaks, as well as the couple's two dogs, Bebe and Champ, serving as flower girl and ring bearer during the ceremony. The pets wore a white dress and a tuxedo, respectively.
